NARI

The Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council was chartered on July 12, 1961, as the Home Improvement Council of Greater Milwaukee, a chapter of the National Home Improvement Council. The NHIC, founded in 1956 as an outgrowth of the Eisenhower administration's "Operation Home Improvement," was an organization designed to promote home remodeling in order to stimulate the economy.

The Council's goals of encouraging ethical conduct, sound business practices, and professionalism in the remodeling industry have led to the growth of the remodeling industry nationwide and made NARI a recognized authority in that industry.

NARI’s Core Purpose is to advance and promote the remodeling industry’s professionalism, product and vital public purpose.

Metropolitan Builders Association The Metropolitan Builders Association (MBA) is a not-for-profit trade association that represents over 1,300 companies involved in the construction, development, and remodeling of single and multifamily housing and light commercial property in Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Jefferson, and Milwaukee Counties. Collectively, our members employ tens of thousands of workers in the metro-Milwaukee area and do over $800 million worth of business each year. With such a large number of high-paying jobs, the housing industry is a crucial element to the area's continued economic health.
NAGBR NAHB is a trade association that helps promote the policies that make housing and remodeling a national priority. Since 1942, NAHB has been serving its members, the housing industry, and the public at large.

In plain English, aging-in-place means remaining in one's home safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. It means the pleasure of living in a familiar environment throughout one's maturing years, and the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special events that enrich all our lives. It means the reassurance of being able to call a house a "home" for a lifetime.

Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule. Lead Safe Company

In April 2010, the EPA's LRRP Rule came into effect, (40 CFR 745), requiring that renovations conducted for compensation, must be performed by Certified Firms using Certified Renovators. Renovation firms that wish to work in pre-1978 homes and child occupied facilities must apply to the EPA and pay a fee to become certified. Renovators seeking to become Certified Renovators must successfully complete an EPA accredited course or a course accredited by an EPA authorized State. There is no opt out provision for residential property owners seeking renovations that affect lead based paint building materials.

Pekel Construction & Remodeling is a Certified Lead Safe Company and our field staff are Certified Lead Safe Renovators. In Wisconsin, The EPA has assigned the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services as the administering and governing authority for the EPA Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule.
