We spend a lot of time researching when we are in the market for goods or services. Living on the East Side in a historically significant home and maintaining its integrity is extremely important to us.
As much as we liked the house we just didn’t love it, it didn’t exactly fit our needs. We were reluctant to make any modifications or plan for an addition because we thought we’d never find someone with a vision and an understanding of our needs and could execute it. We started to think about just moving to a house that better suited us. That was until we met David Pekel from Pekel Construction.
After an extensive search for a firms that specialized in old period style houses Pekel’s name kept coming up. It wasn’t until we saw a sign in our neighborhood when one weekend we walked up and knocked on the door and spoke with the owners. They too had a similar era home and just could not say enough good things about the whole process, and they were still in the middle of the construction.
We contacted Pekel Construction and David met with us. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the style of our home, we felt that he really listened to us, and he suggested ideas that we never would have considered on our own.
What started as just a kitchen remodel and family room addition grew into a whole house project, as we decided that following the master plan they developed would provide us with everything we needed to really love our house.
We are grateful for the vision, workmanship, and the concierge service that we received from everyone on the Pekel Construction team.
